- Meeting at the Pier
I departed from the Sorrento harbor at 7:40 AM. Capri is well-known as a holiday destination in Italy and also one of the most expensive places. I stayed in Sorrento and opted for a day trip to Capri >.<
It’s exciting to visit a place that even Beckham brought his parents to! 💖
The Marina Piccola port is located right beneath the cliffs, so it’s advisable to take the 1 euro elevator!
Make sure to arrive early as our departure time is at 7:40 AM! It felt like I was the only one with black hair here!
It was a bit crowded at the port, but thanks to that, I could easily meet my guide. I ended up traveling with three American couples! 😉
- Bus Tour
Upon arriving in Capri, I left my luggage and hopped on a bus. The driver skillfully navigated the narrow roads, which was both thrilling and nerve-wracking! It felt like riding a rollercoaster!
If I had done this tour independently, I would have felt lost, but our guide made it so easy to get around quickly!
I was a bit worried about the cloudy weather, but I took a moment to pray and hoped that the conditions would improve. If there’s a significant tidal change, we may have to switch to another tour—guess I’ll just have to earn some more merit! 😉
- Blue Grotto
The Blue Grotto in Capri is bustling with boat traffic. Some people arrive on larger boats, while others take smaller ones.

Our guide is an officially licensed Italian guide who seemed to have insider connections to speed things up. Awesome! 👍👍
If you arrived on a large boat, you’d need to transfer to a smaller one to enter the cave. However, since we arrived by bus, we could directly hop on the small boat! >.<
Important Notes for Visiting the Blue Grotto
You need to be cautious as you enter the tiny cave. The guide repeated several instructions. Two people need to lie back in the boat!
Here’s a picture of a couple lying back in the same boat!
Lying back gives you a great view of the sky! 😘
As I was filming, I nearly fell in! It was even more thrilling than a typical amusement park ride! >.<
You can see how much fun I’m having just by looking at my face. It was truly an incredible experience!
You have to see it in person! I’ve seen clear waters in Florida and did a hopping tour in the Philippines, but it was amazing how nature created the Blue Grotto!
In reality, it’s even bluer! ❤️
My family’s hard-earned merits really paid off with such a beautiful view.
Seeing the small boats gathered around made me realize that this breathtaking view is truly a masterpiece of nature.
🔽 Shortly after, our lively boatman started singing “O Sole Mio.” It seems like all Italians are opera singers—they sing so beautifully! 😘 Make sure to enjoy the performance! 😉
The boatmen have their signature songs, and I noticed that others were singing different ones on the other side. >.<
Next, some tourists were terrified to pass through the narrow entrance and screamed! It felt like we were going to touch noses!
- Single-Person Gondola
The single-person gondola is an exclusive experience here. I purchased an additional ticket to ride it.
Though there’s nothing underneath, it’s like a lookout point where you can see both Capri and Anacapri.
The weather was slightly cloudy, but I thought, “When else will I get to ride a single-person gondola?” so I decided to give it a try, and it turned out to be quite fun!
Monte Solaro
Here’s the highest point on Capri, Monte Solaro.
You get a moment to enjoy the view at the top. It seems like the perfect spot to enjoy when the weather is nice!
When it was time to descend, the weather suddenly cleared up! 😙
- Lunch
It was time for lunch, so we headed to a restaurant that our guide recommended. We all decided to eat there together! >.<
Meals and drinks aren’t included in the tour price, but they weren’t too expensive!
Our guide knew everyone in the neighborhood, as he greeted people everywhere we went.
I ordered Gorgonzola pizza, an Americano, and a seafood lemon spaghetti that can only be found here!
The color was truly lemon-yellow! I wondered what it would taste like, and it had a strangely indescribable flavor.
From now on, I think I’ll only eat lemons as candy! >.<
The wood-fired pizza was delicious, with a great blend of nuts and cheese!
I recommend this cozy restaurant in Capri!

- Exploring Anacapri
Thanks to our knowledgeable guide, I got to explore all the photo spots in Anacapri that I would have missed if I were on a free trip with a friend.
Capri is famous for being the vacation spot of many celebrities, including Richard Gere, Grace Kelly, Dustin Hoffman, and Julianne Moore!
This island has a magical charm that makes you want to visit again! ❤️ I also checked out “Casa Mia,” which means “my house.”
While exploring, I came across Villa Jovis, the summer residence of the Roman Emperor Tiberius from 27 AD.
It was built around the 1st century AD and is a great example of Roman architecture.
I reached the entrance, but since I had to go quite far down, I decided to explore some more! >.<
Villa Jovis
“Dedicated to Love and Suffering”
This is engraved at the entrance of Villa Lysis.
Another historical villa is Villa Lysis, built by French poet François-René de Chateaubriand in the early 20th century.
It’s said to be a place of peace where he could write his works.
You need to pay an entrance fee, but the ticket office is a bit far from the villa.
Villa Lysis
Lysis was built to honor Lysis, a young Athenian and friend of Socrates.
It symbolizes the complex emotions of humans who experience both the joy and pain of love. This location was a significant gathering spot for artists and thinkers. 👍
The weather was quite unpredictable, fluctuating between cloudy and sunny, just like Italian weather!
- Riding the Funicular
To get back down, you can either walk or take the funicular, and I chose the funicular! >.<
It felt like I should memorize the phrase “funiculi funicula” while riding! 😘
When I got down, the weather suddenly cleared up! 😘
I had a wonderful time exploring the small towns of Italy—Sorrento → Capri → Naples. As I waited for the ferry to Naples, I bid farewell to Capri.
In Italy, you even have to pay for luggage fees! Such a hassle with all my bags! 😉
